Children's Summer Reading Program 2026

Keep your brain active this summer by registering for Utica Public Library’s Summer Reading Program. Participants of all ages get the chance to earn prizes when they read from June 15th to July 30th. Stretch your reading muscles and reach your goal!

Summer Reading 2026 Flyer: Unearth a Story

Registration begins Monday, June 1st. Stop by the library to register and receive your Summer Reading folder.

How to Participate:
  • Each day you read for 20 minutes, color each Dino egg on your reading log. Come in to the library to receive a prize after 10, 20, 30 and 40 days of reading and fill out an entry ticket to be entered into the weekly and Grand Prize drawings.
  • Complete the Can You Dig It? Reading Bingo and turn in for a prize.
  • Attend free events throughout the summer to be entered for grand prizes drawings.
  • Return reading logs and bingo sheet to the library to get stamped from June 15th – July 30th.

⭐YOU MUST BE ENROLLED IN THE SUMMER READING PROGRAM TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR PRIZES⭐

Important Dates:
    • June 1st : Registration begins
    • June 13th : SRP Kick-Off -Balloon Artist, Face Painter, Bounce House, Ice Cream and fun lawn games, 1:00 – 3:00p.m.
    • June 15th : Summer Reading begins
    • June 17th and 18th : DINO FUN -TechKnowkids @ 2:00 pm & 5:30 pm. Seating Limited - Registration Required!
    • June 24th : MAGIC SHOW - Magic Tea Entertainment @ 5:30 pm. Registration Required!
    • July 1st : Canvas Painting @ 1:00 pm & 5:30 pm. Registration Required!
    • July 3rd & 4th : Library closed
    • July 6th, 7th & 8th : Escape Room (ages 8 and up). Registration Required!
    • July 14th : Dino Builders Foam Fossil Fun @ 1:00 pm. Registration Required!
    • July 15th : Dino STEM @ 1:00 pm & 5:30pm. Registration Required!
    • July 30th : End SRP Celebration – Little Creatures Show @ 5:30 pm. Seating limited. Registration Required! Last day to turn in reading log to be entered into the Grand Prize drawing!
